About Matthew Smith

Originally hailing from Iowa, I have lived & worked in Honolulu, Chicago, Arkansas and have finally landed in Los Angeles. I love well-designed things, well-prepared food, and well-told stories. When I’m not creating photographs, you’ll likely be able to find me cycling around Griffith Park, camping on a road trip up the coast with friends, volunteering at my church, or eating frozen pizza & binging Friday Night Lights.

Besides weddings I have had the opportunity to work for a diverse set of clientele and been published by legends like Country Living Magazine & Men’s Journal. Having a variety of clients has kept my work fresh and allows me to explore my creativity.

My Philosophy

Your wedding union is the beginning of your family's legacy. Photos from your wedding will be the first heirloom of your new family, and one that will be passed down to your future generations. It is a once in a lifetime event and it deserves care, attention to detail, and a tremendous amount of thought. I strive for my clients to not only be happy with their photos today, but also for decades to come.

I embrace authenticity, and there is nothing more authentic than two people in love. I help provide the experience of a joyful wedding day and photographic memories that will remind you of that celebration. The treasured images will be a distinguished part of your family's recorded heritage.

Compelling subjects and collaborating with others, has kept my work fresh and constantly maturing. I would truly love to capture the beginning of your legacy through my lens.
